Could marijuana help treat depression?

The most psychoactive chemical in marijuana could be used by scientists to help treat depression and other mental illnesses, new findings suggest.

Researchers discovered that tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) can change brain activity in a way that makes people concentrate on positive rather than negative emotions.

They said their findings support the idea that the brain’s endocannabinoid system plays an important role in influencing how we process emotions.
